This week we will be featuring Yellow Sapphire & Ruby!

Sapphires and their close cousins, Rubies, are both members of the corundum mineral species. While Ruby is always red, Sapphire can come in virtually every other color, including yellow! Yellow Sapphires, like the one you see below have a vivid ‘canary’ color, and are quite rare and beautiful. The finest yellow generally come from Sri Lanka and are known for unparalleled clarity and color uniformity.

For thousands of years Rubies have been considered one of the most valuable gemstones on Earth. It has everything a precious stone should have: magnificent color, outstanding hardness and terrific brilliance. In addition to that, it is an extremely rare gemstone, especially in a finer quality. Recently, Burmese Rubies, the worlds, leading source for rubies, have become extremely scarce, due to political upheaval in Myanmar.

We wanted to highlight this beautiful yellow sapphire with a set of Burmese Rubies to compliment its illuminating effect. We think it deserves all the heart eyes and think you will too!
